The real estate consulting venture is targeting the mold-related risk-management issues facing property owners, developers, investors, managers and contractors. Providing in-house mold training seminars to industry professionals, along with customized mold management plans and moisture-control programs, the consulting team hopes to eliminate some of the confusion surrounding mold exposure.

In a statement, the firm explains, "There is no clear link uniformly established between mold exposure and resulting illness, the health threat created by mold continues to be debated by scientists and industry professionals." However, it goes on to say that, "It is clear that the presence of mold has an immediate impact on asset value and legal responsibility."

With more than 50 years of experience handling environmental construction issues, the duo has assembled a team of mold experts set to educate the industry and help create strategies that reduce the possibility of exposure and liability. Given that there are sill no clear legal "regulations, standards and professional requirements [dealing with mold]," developers need to make mold-related decisions that "prevent the problems of tomorrow," the statement says.
