The acquisition was a co-operative effort between the Mississippi Development Authority, the City of Southhaven, the DeSoto County Economic Development Council, IDI and project location specialist firm JM Mullis Inc. The building will serve as Helen of Troy's Eastern US distribution center, replacing existing space rented from a third party. It will also provide additional space for the company's newly formed hair and Skin Products Division and for projected increased sales in our other product categories, by warehousing a variety of our existing personal care products. The seller has not been named.

"The company's decision to locate in Mississippi demonstrates their confidence in the state's abilities to meet their business needs now and into the future," says Mississippi Governor Ronnie Musgrove. "It also represents the state's ongoing effort to improve quality of life in our state and build corporate partnerships."

Southhaven won out as the firm's choice as the location of its new Eastern hub over 11 other sites in nine different states. "After an extensive search, we are confident that we are confident that we have chosen the right location to make this project successful," says Helen of Troy chairman, president and CEO Gerald J. Rubin. "The cooperation and support from the people of Mississippi at the local and state level has been tremendous."
