Texas Firm Buys 619,000-SF Mississippi Industrial Asset

SOUTHAVEN, MS-Personal grooming product manufacturer Helen of Troy Ltd. has closed on the $16.2-million acquisition of a 619,000-sf warehouse property here. The facility is located in Atlanta-based developer Industrial Development International’s Airway Distribution Center.

The acquisition was a co-operative effort between the Mississippi Development Authority, the City of Southhaven, the DeSoto County Economic Development Council, IDI and project location specialist firm JM Mullis Inc. The building will serve as Helen of Troy’s Eastern US distribution center, replacing existing space rented from a third party. It will also provide additional space for the company’s newly formed hair and Skin Products Division and for projected increased sales in our other product categories, by warehousing a variety of our existing personal care products. The seller has not been named.
