Aquatic Entertainment would Anchor $45M Hotel-Timeshare Resort

OCEAN SHORES, WA-The City of Ocean Shores is close to closing a land sale for 23 acres slated for a $45-million destination hotel-timeshare resort project to be anchored by a 30,000-sf aquarium and a 45,000-sf indoor water park with a ‘swim with the rays and sharks’ experience.

Operating under the name Ocean Shores Aquarium LLC, the project’s sole developer is Jerry West. West says the plan is to break ground this May and complete the project by June 2004. A conceptual site plan has been completed as well as an environmental assessment and a traffic impact analysis. Still to be obtained are the necessary development permits and financing.

The aquarium would cost $15 million to construct. The hotel-time share building and water park complex would cost $30 million. The cost of the land is around $2 million. West has retained Seattle-based Capital Access to source financing for the project.
