According to a spokesperson for Blake Hunt Ventures, retailer Cost Plus will open its 24,000-sf store this spring, and a parking garage with 600-plus spaces will open around the same time.

Olympic Plaza is a 117,037-sf project, which is located on the block bounded by Locust Street, Olympic, California and Mt. Diablo boulevards. A 14-screen Century Theatres movie complex, which is the complex's anchor, is expected to open this summer. The center is more than 80% pre-leased, according to Blake Hunt Ventures, but the names of the tenants remain confidential at this time.

Nearby, The Corners retail development, which is located at Main Street and Mt. Diablo Boulevard, is also preparing to open this spring. The project, which is being developed by Brian Hirahara, is a 33,000-sf retail and office development that will include Tiffany's jewelry store, Pottery Barn for Kids and a cafe. John Cumbelich and Brian Hirahara of John Cumbelich & Associates have the project leasing assignment for The Corners.

While no details of the lease rates were revealed for either of these properties, Walnut Creek's retail spaces range from $40 to $50 per sf.
