San Diego Steps Up Marketing Campaign

SAN DIEGO-The newly formed Downtown Residential Marketing Alliance installs a viewer-controlled, robotic webcam atop San Diego's Clarion Hotel. The webcam is the fourth of its kind for San Diego, which is now being called the most visible city on the Internet.

SAN DIEGO-A viewer-controlled, robotic webcam has been installed atop San Diego’s Clarion hotel by the Downtown Residential Marketing Alliance, a recently formed coalition that brings together competing developers focused on marketing Downtown San Diego.

The webcam is the fourth of its kind for San Diego, which is now being called the most visible city on the Internet. The camera provides real-time images of local tourist attractions, the Padres ballpark and residential construction projects, which can be accessed through the websites www.ccdc.com and www.signonsandiego.com. The sites also contain images from the three other webcams posted in San Diego, which are part of the Destination WebCam program that started in September 2001. Two cameras are posted atop One America Plaza, while one other is located on the roof of Symphony Towers.
