Taubman Close to Groundbreaking on $160M Northlake Mall

CHARLOTTE, NC-Construction on the 1.2 million-sf enclosed super regional mall is set to begin in late summer or early fall and the facility has a targeted opening date of Aug. 5, 2005.

CHARLOTTE, NC-Bloomfield, MI-based Taubman Centers Inc. will break ground this year on Northlake, a 1.2 million-sf super regional mall to be located here. Construction costs for the project are estimated to be $160 million.

Scheduled to open Aug. 5, 2005, the enclosed center will feature Dillard’s, Hecht’s and Belk, along with two additional anchors to be announced shortly and up to 150 mall shops. The design also includes up to 210-000 sf of outdoor space.
