Martin Cohan of the Grubb & Ellis North Los Angeles office tells GlobeSt.com that the property, called Canyon Center, is at the northwest corner of Whites Canyon Road and Soledad Canyon Road in the Canyon Country section of Santa Clarita. He says it was developed in the early 1960s, with additional buildings added through the years. Cohan and Joshua Levy of Grubb & Ellis represented the buyer, with Cohan also representing the seller.
Cohan says Forest remodeled the center in the early 1980s, adding shop space and auto service bays. The current anchors in the center are Big Lots, Dollar Tree, TJ Maxx and Factory-2-U. The center also includes a Kentucky Fried Chicken, Starbucks and numerous other shops and restaurants. Cohan tells GlobeSt.com that the new owner plans further remodeling throughout the center, which was 98% leased at the time of sale.
