"They've leased around 22,000 sf around town in small retail deals and they've also leased a warehouse," says J.D. Torian of Colliers International's Austin office. "They're really, really expanding. They should do five more locations this year." Austin's Pizza also has taken 13,500 sf of warehouse space along Rutland Drive.

Torian tells GlobeSt.com that the pizza company is seeking sites east of Interstate 35, in the Burnet Road area and Oak Hill. A takeout and delivery operation, the company's locations range between 950 sf to 1,500 sf and usually are situated in neighborhood shopping centers. It does have one stand-alone store.

The company's current locations dot the Austin map from Round Rock and Cedar Park to the south and southwest submarkets. Retail surveys for the end of 2002 have yet to be released, but estimates are that the market remains about 95% leased.
