Duncan Replaces Taggart as Crescent's Florida Chief

ORLANDO-The Charlotte-based company's new vice president and director of development steps into big shoes as Joseph W. Taggart retires at 63. Taggart was inducted into NAIOP's Hall of Fame last year.

ORLANDO-Whit Duncan, a metro Orlando commercial real estate professional for the past 15 years, is the new vice president and Florida director of development for Charlotte-based Crescent Resources LLC, a 34-year-old Duke Energy Inc. company.

Duncan, Crescent’s business development director since joining the company in 1996, replaces Joseph W. Taggart, who is retiring at 63. Fred A. “Tony” Byers, Crescent’s senior vice president, says Taggart is “a very big reason why Crescent Resources has been so successful in Florida.” Taggart was inducted into NAIOP’s Hall of Fame last year.

Duncan has been overseeing development efforts at the Crescent at Primera at Interstate 4 and Lake Mary Boulevard and New Century Park in Lake Mary, FL; Resource Square at Central Florida Research Park near the University of Central Florida; and the Gateway Crossing Shopping Center on Semoran Boulevard at Gateway Drive in North Orange County. Byers calls Duncan “the best choice to lead the leasing and development” of Crescent’s commercial properties in Florida.
