The building is located on 16-plus acres at 3245 Meridian Parkway in the Meridian Business Campus. The facility consists of 23,000 sf of office space as well as 27 dock-high loading doors on two sides.
Richard F. Etner Jr., senior director-industrial brokerage for Cushman & Wakefield in Fort Lauderdale, and a broker involved in the transaction, said Quantum plans to move into the Weston facility within 90 days. The company currently is based in several buildings in Fort Lauderdale Commerce Center.
Quantum owner Jeff McGovern leased the building because it is in a great location and it's highly functional, according to Etner.
"This warehouse is one of the largest contiguous distribution spaces in Broward County," Etner said. "Because it is strategically located near interstates 595 and 75, it is well-positioned to service Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties."
The industrial real estate team of Etner, Christopher J. Metzger and Sky Groden of Cushman & Wakefield negotiated the sublease on behalf of the tenant Circuit City Stores Inc., which left the building approximately 16 months ago.
The Weston transaction is the fourth deal of 90,000 sf or more completed by Etner, Metzger and Groden in the southwest Broward market in the past year and a half. The other deals were the 178,000-sf City Furniture sale, the 150,000-sf Office Depot sublease to Pet Supermarket and the 90,000-sf lease of an AMB property to Sears Logistics Services.
The team specializes in leasing and sales of industrial properties, sales of vacant properties andbuilt-to-suits.
