Davoren is taking the reins from Robert E. Fee, a 39-year veteran of the company. Fee, however, will continue his responsibilities as CEO of Turner Construction and president/COO of Dallas-based Turner Corporation. Both Davoren and Fee will continue to work out of the firm's NYC office. Davoren will report to Fee and Thomas C. Leppert, chairman and CEO of Turner Corp.
In his new post, Davoren will take hold of Turner's core construction operations in all business units, including its 45 geographic offices, and will oversee national sales. Since 2000, he has served as senior VP of Turner's New York region, responsible for the firm's New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh offices.
In addition to this reorganization, Turner has also promoted three vice presidents. Rodney J. Michalka was named EVP in charge of key business initiatives; Donald G. Sleeman was promoted to executive vice president, adding to his role as CFO; and James C. McKenna was appointed senior VP and general manager of Turner's New York business unit, succeeding Davoren.
McKenna will now oversee Turner's New York business unit, the largest geographic operation for the firm, and manage all construction operations for the unit, which employs more than 550 people. McKenna was most recently general manager of the commercial division for the New York business unit.
As EVP, Michalka--who most recently served as SVP of the firm's Kansas City and Denver units--will now be in charge of key business initiatives, such as Turner Casualty & Surety and Turner Logistics. He will also have direct responsibility for managing current initiatives, including internal implementation and external marketing, and will work to build the company's base of products, services and businesses. He will report to Leppert.
Sleeman, as EVP and CFO, will assume responsibility for the financial control and accounting components at Turner. A 15 year veteran of the company, he most recently served as SVP and CFO. In his new position, he will continue to report to Leppert.
