Cederstrand relocated from Colliers' Seattle six years ago and proceeded to be a driving force in the resurgence of Downtown Tacoma, says Frank Friedman, the Colliers' senior vice president who manages the Tacoma office. "He has brought in developers and tenants and done hundreds of thousands of sf in sales and leasing of office and retail space," says Friedman. "He's really been the spark."

Among many other things, says Friedman, Cederstrand found a new use for the Schoenfeld Furniture building on Pacific Avenue, right off Interstate 705, a spur from Interstate 5 that skirts the eastern edge of Downtown Tacoma, separating the CBD from the port and waterfront. Across the street from the building, Cederstrand proceeded to secure a buyer for three buildings that were combined and rehabbed into office space that Cederstrand also leased up.

Additionally, Cederstrand brokered the $80-million sale of the Matsushita Semiconductor facility in Puyallup and the Thea's Landing development on the Foss Waterway, and he holds the ongoing marketing assignment for Quadrant of Northwest Landing's commercial developments in DuPont.

Such production combined with his six years with Colliers is what earned Cederstrand the promotion. "He's had sufficient time to qualify and his performance has been outstanding," Friedman tells GlobeSt.com, adding that since he became manager of the Tacoma office three years ago, Cederstrand is the first broker to be promoted to SVP.
