"It's unheard of for a Florida developer to hire someone to get its residents involved in the community's environment and to make sure the habitat is managed in order to preserve and protect it," Golgowski says.

He was deputy executive director of the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, based in suburban Winter Park, FL, for 19 years. In that position Golgowski signed off on more than 125 multimillion-dollar commercial real estate projects while overseeing the state-mandated Development of Regional Impact program for the six-county Central Florida region.

Prior to his planning council job, Golgowski was a senior environmental analyst for the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation. He also worked as a planner for the Columbia County (New York) planning department.
