Real Estate Law Firm Concentrates on Affordable Housing

SAN FRANCISCO-As affordable housing creeps to the forefront of San Francisco's top priorities, Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP adds two new partners to its San Francisco office.

SAN FRANCISCO-Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP, a law firm specializing in representing the real estate and financial services industries, is expanding its affordable housing practice with the addition of two new partners in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Stephen Ryan and Anne Knowles, who developed a nationally recognized affordable housing practice at the law firm of Bingham McCutchen, plan to relocate their practice to Cox, Castle & Nicholson, accompanied by team members Lisa Weil and Scott Smith.

Ryan formerly chaired the Affordable Housing practice at Bingham McCutchen’s San Francisco office, where he specialized in all aspects of financing and development of affordable housing projects throughout the United States. Ryan has more than 20 years of experience representing leading builders, for-profit and nonprofit developers, syndicators, lenders, financiers, public agencies and consultants in structuring complex financing, utilizing low-income housing tax credits, rehabilitation tax credits, tax-exempt bonds and public subsidies.
