Attilio Esposito Inc., a supplier of custom-cut and packaged meat products to area restaurants, suffered a devastating fire last year. PIDC arranged loans to help it build a new 26,000-sf facility in the same Italian Market section where it was founded as a storefront butcher shop in 1911.
Lensco Products, Inc., a maker of shampoos, conditioners and other cosmetic products, will add 6,600 sf to its existing facility on Hedley Street in the Bridesburg section and also upgrade equipment and a computer system.
With an Enterprise loan from PIDC, Fifth Street Auto Parts, which has properties on 5th St. and Allegheny Ave., will buy an additional building for indoor storage of its salvage. It restores and sells used cars.
Amuneal Manufacturing Corp. will remodel its headquarters at Darrah St. and renovate its factory with funding from PIDC. The company is located in the East Frankford Urban Renewal District and makes magnetic shields for electronics and metal displays for retailers.
Huntingdon Yarn Mill in the Port Richmond section will open a dye house operation and renovate its facilities with the funding.
Gershel Brothers, a maker of store fixtures, will use a PIDC First Fund loan to purchase a 2.6-acre parcel and renovate a 102,200-sf industrial building on State Rd. in Holmesburg, a Port of Philadelphia Enterprise Zone. It has done business in Philadelphia since 1970.
PIDC is a private, nonprofit corporation created in 1958 by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the city's commerce department. It provides financing programs and real estate products to businesses and developers throughout all local neighborhoods.
