PIDC Seeds Six Neighborhood Small-Business Projects

PHILADELPHIA-Financing from the locally based industrial corporation gives

PHILADELPHIA-Locally based Philadelphia Industrial Development Corp. approved financing to six small businesses in six city neighborhoods, which PIDC estimates will result in 45 new jobs. The PIDC price tag is undisclosed, and no one could be reached at the office by press time.

Attilio Esposito Inc., a supplier of custom-cut and packaged meat products to area restaurants, suffered a devastating fire last year. PIDC arranged loans to help it build a new 26,000-sf facility in the same Italian Market section where it was founded as a storefront butcher shop in 1911.

Lensco Products, Inc., a maker of shampoos, conditioners and other cosmetic products, will add 6,600 sf to its existing facility on Hedley Street in the Bridesburg section and also upgrade equipment and a computer system.
