According to Quad/Tucci, which owns the hotel, the 138-room property will be a brand-new hotel that will be much more upscale than its predecessor, which closed last year due to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Chambers Lodging LLC will manage the hotel, which is located at 5700 Pacific Highway E in Fife, under the Best Western flag. The hotel is expected to serve as a premier conference facility between Tacoma and SeaTac International Airport.

Merit Co., the project's general contractor, is demolishing part of the building, including common space, to make room for a new restaurant, lounge and catering service. Banquet space will be increased to 18,500-sf.

According to Degen & Degen, the architect and interior designer, the main focus is on the addition of a separate conference entry and expanded pre-function space. The project also includes fully renovated public spaces, guestrooms and baths, as well as a new restaurant and lounge.
