Inner Harbor to See More Hotels

BALTIMORE-The Baltimore Development Corp. made another dent in its efforts to renew the Inner Harbour West area with its recent selection of three proposals to redevelop the city’s lots known as 6A, 6B, 7A, and 7B. The parcels sit near the Baltimore Convention Center and Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The proposals all address the demand for more short-stay hotel rooms in the well-traveled area.

Quadrangle Development Corp. and RLJ Development LLC are proposing a Hilton Hotel, which would create a 750-room hotel in its first phase. Otis Warren & Co. and Garfield Traub Development suggest developing a 755-room Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Finally, Treyball Development Inc. and Portman Holdings have come up with a proposal for an 869-room hotel to be operated by a yet to be determined hotel corporation. BDC is currently reviewing the three submissions, but a date for making the final selection has not yet been revealed.
