Located off Rte. 7, the Ashbrook development occupies an area near the new site of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Construction work is scheduled to get underway toward the end of the year. "The developments will be completed in different phases, "Atlantic Realty's Rick Fassett tells GlobeSt.com."The office portion should be finished in the fall of this year, and the retail portion should be finished six months after that."

Ashbrook Commons, the retail segment of the project, will offer 200,000 sf of space. Shary Thur & Associates is handling leasing activities for the Commons. The office portion will be known as Lakes at Ashbrook Professional Condominiums, and will offer four two-story structures. The similarly sized buildings will consist of a total of 62,000 sf. Real estate services firm Randall Hagner is in charge of sales, and has already pre-sold 65% of the office condominiums. Finally, a 45,000-sf hotel will round out the project.

"We are pleased to be moving ahead with the final phase of Ashbrook, providing a much-needed community retail center for fast-growing eastern Loudoun County, as well as professional office condominiums that are likely to be sold out before we even break ground this summer," Atlantic Realty partner David A. Ross notes in a written statement. "Ashbrook should develop great synergy with the Howard Hughes Medical Center, providing homes, offices, and day-to-day services for the many professionals who will be moving into Hughes over the next few years."
