City, County Approve Funding for $25M Government Center

BREMERTON, WA-The Bremerton City Council and Kitsap County commissioners make the necessary financial commitments to fund a building between Fifth and Sixth streets in Downtown Bremerton that will house city and county offices.

BREMERTON, WA-The necessary funds have been approved for a $25-million multi-government building in Downtown Bremerton, a 30-minute ferry ride from Downtown Seattle.

The Bremerton City Council on Wednesday voted to approve the city’s $7.5 million portion of the 100,000-sf project. On Monday, Kitsap County commissioners voted to guarantee an $18 million construction bond issue.

The government center will house offices for the City of Bremerton and Kitsap County. Many of the county employees would move from nearby Port Orchard.
