Encompassing 510,000-sf, the mall is located at Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Clairemont Drive. It is anchored by Pacific Theatres, Circuit City, Michaels, Burlington Coat Factory, Vons, Savon Drugs, Big Lots and T.J. Maxx. The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio owns the property, which is leased and managed by Costa Mesa-based Donahue Schriber.

The rehab project will involve improvements to both the shopping center and the land surrounding it. Upgrades will include repainting the entire complex, adding awnings, renovating the soffit in the older section of the center and constructing a decorative fountain with additional landscaping, tables and chairs outside near the complex's theater area. Other changes will entail expanding two roadways on the site and enhancing the lighting, outdoor amenities and landscaping.

General contractor Centre Builders of Santa Ana is handling construction on the project. The architect is Long Beach-based Kluger Architects.
