Starwood Opens Third Mexico City Property

MEXICO CITY-White Plains, NY-based Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has completed its 20th property in Mexico: the Sheraton Centro Historico Hotel & Convention Center in Mexico City.

Starwood Hotels and Inmobiliaria Interpres, S.A. de C.V opened the new facility last week. Located on Avenida Juarez 70 in Mexico City’s Historical Center, Starwood officials say Centro Historico, the company’s third property in the city, is the capital’s largest meetings and events hotel facility.

The hotel offers 457 guestrooms including a 3,229-square foot Presidential Suite, Junior Suites, Master Suites and extended-stay guestrooms. The hotel’s convention venue features 53,000 sf and offers eight meeting rooms that can be divided into 14 breakout rooms. All told, the meeting facilities can accommodate 6,000 people.
