The project would shave the amount of developable space at the M.D. Hodges Co.-created park to 250 acres. The contract price for the 150 acres was not disclosed. But area brokers dealing in Fulton County land deals tell GlobeSt.com on condition of anonymity that the price will be under $2 per sf or about $85,000 per acre.
The estimated hard cost of the undertaking will probably be about $122 million, area construction industry estimators who have completed similar projects, tell GlobeSt.com.
The Knight Group, headed by Jay Knight, has told the commission it would be ready to break ground on the project by first quarter 2004. Knight's most recently completed project was Meadow Glen, a community of 208 apartments and 280 single-family homes near Southpark.
