Mucha to Head Central Florida Contractors

ORLANDO-Diana Mucha, president of M & V Builders Inc., takes over from Alan Hicks of the Cordish Co. as the Associated General Contractors of Central Florida Inc. backs its national group in urging the IRS to withdraw a proposal to tax off-road, mobile machinery used on construction sites.

ORLANDO-The Associated General Contractors of Central Florida Inc. has named Diana Mucha, president of locally based M & V Builders Inc., to head the trade group for 2003. She takes over from Alan Hicks of the Cordish Co., the chapter’s immediate past president.

The chapter also named new officers and directors; inducted five members into its exclusive No. 1 Club; and honored an Orlando real estate lawyer for his volunteer work with the community, the construction industry and the chapter.

The new appointments and awards come as the local AGC formally supports its national group in urging the Internal Revenue Service to withdraw a proposal to tax off-road, mobile machinery, such as cranes, used in the construction of multimillion-dollar commercial real estate projects.
