Called Ellenwood Township, the site is at Anvil Block Road and Interstate 675 near Grant Road, about 20 miles south of Downtown Atlanta. Plans filed with Clayton County planners also propose a 4,200-seat theater for the community. The commercial component will front the site with residential in the rear.

Near Downtown Atlanta, meanwhile, Glen Iris Partners LLC has the city's green light to break ground on Lighthouse Lofts, a planned 13-townhome project in the Old Fourth Ward industrial area near City Hall East and just outside the Martin Luther King Historic District.

Each three-story townhome at Glen Iris and Angier would have 1,000 sf of ground-floor retail and underground parking for residents. The homes will sell for $200,000 to $300,000. Arthur Cohen is the principal developer. David Daniels is the project architect and also a partner in the 'new urbanist'-styled undertaking.
