GE Interlogix, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric Co., plans to move into the building by May 1. The company currently has its offices in Norwood Tower, a 118,000-sf building at 114 W. Seventh St., also in the CBD.

The 300 West Sixth building is a joint venture between Washington, DC-based CarrAmerica Realty Corp. and JER Partners, based in McLean, VA. Other tenants include the Akin, Gump Straus Hauer & Feld and Clark Winters Newton law firms and Austin Ventures.

GE Interlogix did not want to disclose the amount of space it is leasing at 300 West Sixth. The space will accommodate about 20 employees.

Jeff Pace, managing director of CarrAmerica in Austin, acted for his company and Michael Kennedy and Russell Young, both with Commercial Texas in Austin, negotiated for the tenant. GE Interlogix sells security communications technologies and information.
