Located in the District's Thomas Circle community, Andover House will occupy a parcel of land at 14th and N Streets. "Andover House is in a prime downtown location, a short walk from a host of cultural institutions, the business district and the vibrant East End and Dupont Circle neighborhoods," LCOR senior vice president Timothy Smith tells GlobeSt.com. The land itself falls under the ownership of the National City Christian Church--a neoclassical structure designed by famed architect John Russell Pope--which will adjoin the site of the new apartment structure complex. LCOR has committed to leasing the ground space from the church organization over a long-term period for an undisclosed amount.

In keeping with the historic architectural tone of the area, LCOR solicited the help of local architectural firm Weihe Design Group for the building design. Others involved in the project include general contractor Bovis Lend Lease of Bethesda, MD, and the local office of Bank of America, which made the necessary funds available to LCOR for development of the project. Looking ahead to Andover House's completion, Smith adds, "We're confident about its success and look forward to marketing it next summer when the units come online."
