The $13-million performing arts building consists of a 600-seat theater with an orchestra pit, a dance studio, band room, vocal and instrumental practice rooms and a multi-purpose space. In addition to finishing construction on the performing arts facility, Roel also completed work on the center's 14,000-sf education component. This building contains a library, classrooms and a computer lab.
Developed by the Salvation Army, the community center opened its doors in June of last year. The project, which is named after McDonald's founder Ray Kroc and his widow Joan, stands at 6845 University Ave. Encompassing a total of 110,000 sf, it includes a gymnasium, ice arena, aquatic center, skateboard park, recreation field and family enhancement center. Touted as one of the largest facilities of its kind in the nation, the center has been designed to serve the communities of East San Diego, La Mesa and Lemon Grove.
