Dallas-based Wyndham International Inc. is moving Simmons from her manager's post at Wyndham Atlanta to the former Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center where she will focus on hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction and developing employees. Wyndham Peachtree has 33,000 sf of meeting and exhibition display space.

At Hotel Nikko, where she was director of rooms, Simmons increased hotel occupancy by 11% and increased profit by 7%. Before working for Wyndham Atlanta, she managed the Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor where she directed a $1.6 million renovation. Simmons also was director of operations at the Wyndham-owned Crown Plaza Ravinia in Atlanta.

Other career moves the Bristol, England-educated professional made were in 1994 at Shutters on the Beach in California where she was rooms division and food/beverage manager. Three years later, Simmons moved to Loews Santa Monica Hotel as executive assistant manager and led the hotel through a $15 million renovation.
