The Giant Food store will consist of 60,000 sf and will be located in Waverly Crossroads, which is currently under development by Vanguard Equities and will include an additional 9,000 sf of retail space. About 150 new positions will be created through the opening of the supermarket.

"This project is more good news for the city, many areas of which are underserved by full-service supermarkets," Baltimore Development Corp. president MJ Brodie says. "A supermarket in Waverly will help retain and attract residents to the surrounding communities, increase foot traffic along Greenmount Ave. for existing businesses, and stimulate new commercial development, creating jobs for neighborhood residents."
