Electronics Boutique Takes 1,200 SF in Union Square

NEW YORK CITY-The electronic game and computer software store is moving into the ground floor of 10 Union Square, joining nine other retailers at the base of the mixed-use Zeckendorf Towers, a condominium and office development.

NEW YORK CITY-The Union Square neighborhood here continues to be a hotbed for retail activity, evident in the recently inked lease for 1,200 sf at 10 Union Square by Electronics Boutique, an electronic game computer software store. While terms of the deal were undisclosed, it was noted the lease was for 10 years and its value was above market standards.

“[The rent on the new lease], is substantially higher than the average retail rent for this area, which suggests that demand for space surrounding Union Square Park is still growing,” said Fred C. Posniak, VP of W&M Properties, the managing and leasing agent for the property. He added that the proximity of New York University along with growing foot traffic from the nearby subway station, the third largest in the city, contributed to increase in retail rents.
