CCDC Throws Support Behind Mixed-Use Project

SAN DIEGO-Centre City Development Corp.'s board of directors has recommended that the city's redevelopment agency approve Lankford's proposed mixed-use project in downtown.

SAN DIEGO-The Smart Corner project proposed by Lankford and Associates Inc. has moved one step closer to reality, as the Centre City Development Corp.’s board of directors has thrown its support behind the development.

The board members have recommended that the San Diego Redevelopment Agency approve the pending disposition and development agreement with Lankford, which would enable the company to build the Smart Corner mixed-use project in downtown San Diego. In the meantime, CCDC’s board has asked staff to continue working on the affordability levels of the project’s residential component, which are subject to approval by the board’s committees prior to the redevelopment agency’s consideration.
