$7M Hearing and Speech HQ Gets Under Way

COLUMBIA, MD-Construction of the new $7-million Hearing and Speech Agency headquarters has gotten underway courtesy of project contractor and developer Manekin LLC. The nearly 48,000-sf building will sit in Seton Business Park at 5900 Metro Dr. Manekin expects to wrap up construction sometime in the fall.

“We forecast that in the new facility we will be able to serve up to 3,445 clients a year,” says HASA executive director Susan H. Glasgow. “We will be able to educate more children who have special needs, double our number of audiology clients and treat more infants, toddlers and school-aged children who have speech and language disabilities.” The two-story structure will house administrative offices, classrooms, speech and language facilities, and a video relay room for designed to provide students with global communication capabilities.
