The mixed-use project is slated to rise at the northeast corner of 14th and Market, which is located in the East Village Redevelopment District of the Centre City Redevelopment Project's expansion sub-area. Designed by Benson & Bohl Architects, the built-out complex will include 225 apartment units, 425 parking spaces and a 43,000-sf grocery store that will be the second to rise in downtown. With the sudden rise in multifamily construction in downtown San Diego over the past several years, the grocery store will add an important retail component to this area of the city. As an increasing number of residents begin to flow into downtown, the development of more stores that provide the everyday essentials will be crucial.
