Hawaii Firm Acquires Austin Shopping Center

AUSTIN, TX-Alexander & Baldwin Inc. is back on the hunt following last year's sale of several Mainland shopping centers from its income property portfolio. In its first buy, the firm acquires the 184,600-sf Boardwalk Shopping Center near Austin for $23.1 million.

AUSTIN, TX-After selling several mainland shopping centers from its income property portfolio, Honolulu-based Alexander & Baldwin Inc. is back in acquisition mode. The publicly traded company says it has acquired the 184,600-sf Boardwalk Shopping Center near Austin for $23.1 million.

Boardwalk Shopping Center is located on 24 acres north of Austin in the community of Round Rock, near the national headquarters of Dell Computer. A Wal-Mart and Home Depot flank the seven-year-old property. The seller was CIN Boardwalk LP. The property is 100% occupied.

Boardwalk’s major tenants are PetsMart, Ross Dress for Less, and Office Max. Other national tenants include Party City, The Avenue by Lane Bryant, Dollar Tree, Radio Shack, Subway, Supercuts, AT&T Wireless and MailBoxes Etc.
