"The existing facility has a manufacturing floor of about 155,000 sf," Metalsa project leader BK Powers tells GlobeSt.com. "The new$25 million facility is supposed to start production in the last half of September this year."

Construction is on target to begin next month and about 70 new job positions will be created as a result of the expansion plan. Metalsa officials say the decision to double its production capacity with the development of a new facility in Virginia came as a result of the company's eight-year relationship with the county, as well as the strong economic outlook for the Roanoke Valley.
