3/19/03: As of this writing the official war in Iraq has not begun, but it likely will within the next 24 to 48 hours. The first and foremost concern is that it won’t drag on for too long and that there is a minimum loss of life on both sides. This economy cannot withstand a long drawn out conflagration: the stock market won’t sustain it, and consumer confidence, already at a 10-year low, will most likely sink further. Many surgeons today perform operations with minimal invasive techniques that require small amounts of recovery time. Let’s hope the same can be said of this upcoming operation.

SENIOR LIFESTYLE CORP. (CHICAGO, IL) Patrick Lee has been named VP of acquisitions, and will be responsible for identifying opportunities to expand the company’s seniors housing portfolio. Before joining SLC, Lee was employed by Brookdale Living Communities, where he worked on acquisitions and special projects.

JULIEN J. STUDLEY INC. (WASHINGTON, DC) Adam Singer has been named executive managing director in the firm’s Virginia office, while Wendy Feldman Block and David Perlstein have both been promoted to managing director in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Singer joined Studley in 1983, Block in 1987 and Perlstein in 1999.
Kilkelly

TRAMMELL CROW CO. (TAMPA, FL) Tim Kilkelly has been promoted to senior associate. He joined TCC in Nov. 2000 as an associate for the company’s Tenant Representation Group in Tampa. In this position, he will retain duties as a tenant representation broker, representing corporate users in multiple markets across the U.S.
Clarke

CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD (NEW YORK CITY) Celine Clarke has been named senior managing director of corporate communications. In this position she leads the division responsible for the management, positioning and extension of the brand globally. Clarke, who joined the firm’s corporate communications department in 1984, was previously managing director.
Peskin

STERLING AMERICAN PROPERTY (NEW YORK CITY) Mark Peskin has joined the firm as CFO. He was formerly COO and CFO of Art Capital Group Inc., and from 1984 to 2000 he was managing director-chief operating/financial officer of Schroder Real Estate Assoc. LP. Prior to Peskin’s appointment, the CFO position was included in the senior EVP’s job description.
