Marriott Needs 1,200 Workers to Open Two Hotels

ORLANDO-With a $600 million investment at stake and a minimum number of employees in the hiring hopper, Marriott International Inc. has launched an Internet job application form to recruit 1,200 hotel workers needed when the 1,000-room JW Marriott and the 585-room Ritz Carlton open in July.

The hiring approach by the Washington, DC-based hotelier is believed to be the first of its kind Florida’s hospitality industry, local brokers tell GlobeSt.com. Marriott is setting up the online recruitment even as it reviews 3,500 unsolicited resumes received before the Internet program was announced, Marriott officials confirm. The hotelier is calling the twin projects Grande Lakes Orlando.
