S&P Gives Tampa, Orlando 'A' Ratings on Bond Issues

ORLANDO-The 32-year-old Tampa International Airport is selling $260 million in revenue bonds, while eighty miles away the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority, the largest road-building agency in Central Florida, has made a $285 million bond offering.

ORLANDO-Standard & Poor’s Corp. is bullish on the finances of two of Central Florida’s largest commercial real estate players. The New York-based bond-rating agency is giving high marks on new debt issues being sold by Hillsborough County Aviation Authority for Tampa International Airport and separately to the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority.

S&P is assigning it’s A+ rating on $260 million of series 2003A and 2003B revenue bonds being sold for Tampa International Airport, the largest commercial real estate project in Central Florida when it was completed in 1971.

Eighty miles east of Tampa, the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority, the largest road-building agency in Central Florida, is also selling bonds valued at $285 million. S&P gives an A rating to the series 2003A refunding revenue bonds.
