LANDOVER, MD-Plans have been made for a new Borders Books & Music store–the bookstore chain headed by Ann Arbor, MI-based Borders Group Inc.–to open in The Boulevard at The Capital Centre, a sprawling 490,000-sf retail shopping destination that sits on the former site of the USair Arena. The Boulevard is being developed by The Cordish Cos. for $85 million and is scheduled for completion in a few months.

Borders will open the doors of its 23,000-sf space to customers this August. It will be the 23rd Borders in the Metropolitan Washington, DC region. The terms of Borders lease with The Cordish Cos. have not been disclosed.
