PORTLAND-The future of the Portland-Hillsboro Airport is being revised.

The Portland Port Commission on Wednesday authorized a $505,000 payment to Coffman Associates Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri for an update of the airport’s master plan as well as a compatibility study. The updated documents will guide the facility’s development through the year 2022.

Acquired from the city of Hillsboro in 1966, the 870-acre executive airport is located on the west side of the Portland Metropolitan region adjacent to the City of Hillsboro in the so-called Sunset Corridor. With two runways, it hosts more than 200,000 operations annually and is Oregon’s second busiest airport, trailing only Portland International. It has three full-service fixed-base operators, two restaurants and a hotel at the airport.
