The facility will accommodate Sysmex's growing U.S.-based operations and will house the firm's executive and administrative offices, as well as its technical support, sales and marketing, customer training and laboratory operations. Sysmex plans to relocate from north suburban Long Grove, where it currently occupies 54,100 sf, in June. ISI, Interior Space International of Chicago, the interior design division of A. Epstein and Sons International Inc., will provide the interior planning for the new space. Epstein will also conduct engineering services for the project.

Brett Opie, Chris Reynolds, Chad Freese and David Saad of Insignia/ESG's Chicago office represented Sysmex in the transaction. Andy Gloor and Scott Goodman of Sterling Bay Companies represented building ownership. The Sterling Bay Cos., founded in 1986 by Goodman and Craig Golden, owns and operates about two million sf of office, industrial and retail space in the metropolitan Chicagoland area.

Sysmex Corporation of America is the U.S. headquarters of Sysmex Corporation, an international manufacturer of medical diagnostic systems. In addition to its suburban Chicago location, Sysmex will continue to operate its other offices in Miami, FL, Tucson, AZ, and Los Alamitos, CA. "This lease transaction represents one of a number of significant investments Sysmex is making in its infrastructure in order to better serve its North American customers-–immediately and over the long term," said Kazuya Obe, Chairman of Sysmex Corporation of America.
