Net income per share was 64 cents for last year, compared with 36 cents the year before. The company's assets totaled $386.1 million at the end of last year, compared with $371.6 million at the end of 2001.
Avatar's main focus includes developing age-qualified communities in Florida and residential communities in Florida and Arizona, including town homes and high rises. Among Avatar's properties: the company has entered into a joint venture to develop Ocean Palms, a 250-unit high rise in Hollywood, FL.
