Barn Plaza, which is located on 42.3 acres, opened in 1987 with 213,100 sf of gross leasable space. With completion of Kohl's, it now has 238,250 sf, an increase of 11.8%.
Phase two, a renovation of the center's façade, begins immediately. "With Kohl's, we expect Barn Plaza will generate more frequent customer-visits from a broader geographic area, resulting in increased sales for all merchants," said George Demuth, EVP and COO of Kramont. Other tenants include a 35,000-sf Marshall's and an Eckerd Drug store.
Kohl's is based in Menomonee Falls, WI, and has 492 stores nationwide, 27 in PA. It had sales of $9.1 billion in 2002.
With the expansion of Barn Plaza, Kramont owns, operates, manages and has under development 91 properties encompassing approximately 11.6 million sf in 15 states. Grocery, drug or value-store retailers anchor 75% of the 91 properties.
