RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA-AMC Theatres will become the fourth of five anchors at the 1.3-million-sf Victoria Gardens, an open-air shopping center being developed by Forest City Enterprises Inc. of Cleveland and Upland-based Lewis Investment Co.
AMC plans a 16-screen megaplex in the theater entertainment district of the center, including what the developers describe as “plush, wide LoveSeat-style seating” with cup-holder armrests and all-digital sound. Brian Jones, president of Forest City California, notes the theaters will be part of an entertainment mix at the development that will include live productions in the Rancho Cucamonga Cultural Center as well as art shows, night club acts and comedy club performances.
AMC joins Macy’s and Robinson’s-May, each two-level, 180,000-sf stores, and the 65,000-sf Rancho Cucamonga Cultural Center and Library as anchors of Victoria Gardens, whose developers say they will announce a fifth anchor soon. The project, which is designed as a main street and new downtown in Rancho Cucamonga, will include more than 100 retailers.
