Cendant Buys Avis Building to House New Service Center

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA-Cendant Corp. decides to locate its new Car Rental Group's Shared Services Center in the same city that became the home to its human resources call center last year. Cendant will house the new facility in the former Avis Building it recently acquired.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA-Cendant Corp. has taken a look at Florida, Illinois, and New Jersey, and decided to bring its Car Rental Group’s Shared Services Center to Virginia. The $1.6-million endeavor will create nearly 200 new jobs, just as the company’s human resources call center created 100 new jobs when it opened in the city last year.

Cendant’s new shared services center will occupy the 165,000-sf structure previously known as the Avis Building at 300 Centre Pointe Dr. Cendant acquired the property, valued at nearly $16 million, for an undisclosed price.
