Novell Signs for Space in Northwest Suburbs

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL-The international Web application developer Novell Inc. has decided to beef up its presence in the northwestern suburbs by renewing and expanding its lease at Meadows Corporate Center.

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL-Novell Inc. has signed a deal to expand its space and extend its lease, for a total of 14,780 sf, at Meadows Corporate Center–West Tower, 2850 West Golf Road, in this northwest suburb of Chicago. That much space represents a little more than half a floor in the 10-story, 272,390-sf building, which was built in 1976 and renovated in 1990. It comes at a time when all suburban submarkets in Chicago have consistently posted high vacancy rates in recent years, topping 20% in some spots, more if sublease space is considered.

Dan Maslauski, SVP, and David Matthews, principal with the Staubach Co. represented Novell Inc. in the transaction. The landlord, Rolling Meadows Delaware Inc., was represented by Gary Kostecki of Cushman & Wakefield and Joe Gordon of Tower Realty.
