Montreal, Quebec-headquartered Intertape's operations currently located in Suwanee, GA; Bolingbrrok, IL, and Danville, VA will all be relocated to a 200,000-sf facility on a 30-acre plot of land adjacent to the existing Danville center. The entire project will cost about $10.6 million and is expected to be up and running by year's end.

"The project will yield annual savings in excess of $2 million," notes Intertape CFO Andrew M. Archibald. "Cost reductions will be realized in a number of areas, including lower occupancy costs, staffing, finished goods inventory and logistics."

Local construction company Industrial Development Authority is building the facility, and has entered into a 20-year lease agreement with Intertape for an undisclosed figure. Intertape will also have room to grow on the new property, if necessary. The parcel is large enough to accommodate as much as an additional 400,000 sf.
