Local and state business organizations have put forth a great deal of effort to assist in Santoni's $2.4-million expansion. The Baltimore Development Corp., Harbor Bank, and the Maryland's Neighborhood Business Development Program have come up with a total of $2.1 million to help back the project.

"The expansion of current supermarket facilities and the attraction of new ones are a major priority for the city administration," BDC president MJ Brodie says.
